Sèvres The Essential
Recommended
Situated on the edge of the lovely Meudon forest, the town of Sèvres is famous for its National Porcelain Factory, established here in the 18C, and the National Ceramics Museum, which joined forces to create the Cité de la Céramique. In the 19C, Sèvres had a number of well-known residents, including Balzac who, in 1838, had a chalet built at Les Jardies. Later, the author was succeeded by Gambetta, who was the next occupant of the house.
