St.Peter's Church of Montfort-l'Amaury

Christine of Sweden took a shine to the marquis de Monaldeschi. Then he upset her and Queen Christine, not a woman to do things by halves had him assassinated at Fontainbleau. His tombstone is found at the église d'Avon, which has a Roman nave, a 13C bell tower., a Renaissance door and a Gothique Chancel built in 1555 by the architect Jean de Montceau. As for the porch, church goers had to wait until the 18C for this to be built.
