The Grounds of Champs-sur-Marne Castle
These grounds, which were partly destroyed by the storms of December 1999, are one of the most beautiful examples of formal gardens. Duchêne inspired himself on the drawings of Claude Desgots (nephew of Le Nôtre) and brought them back to life at the beginning of the 20C. He followed the perspectives, the original flower beds and skilfully recreated the ponds, fountains and copses of the past.
