Petit Pont

The Petit-Pont connects the Île de la Cité with the Left Bank, and is extended by the rue St-Jacques. It has existed since Antiquity and has survived the vagaries of history in various forms. In former times, only jugglers were exempt from paying the tax to cross the bridge.
