Police Headquarters

The only real thing of interest along this embankment is the view of Quai des Grands Augustins opposite. As for the Quai aux orfèvres et aux joailliers (goldsmiths and jewellers), who abounded here in former times, they have been replaced by the residents of N°36, colleagues of the famous detective, Maigret. The Judiciary Police headquarters and the Law Courts are due to move to the Batignolles in 2017. The embankment leads to St Michel bridge, which dates from 1857.
