Meulan The Essential
The former Meullant, for a long time the chief administrative town of the Counts of Vexin, was attached to the Crown in 1204. Its role as a stronghold of the French Vexin and its position on the River Seine were to bring it misfortune during the Hundred Years' War. An outer suburb of Paris, and former seat of shipbuilding yards for pleasure boats, today Meulan focuses its economic activities on trade and services.
