Sylvanès Abbey

The music you will hear here is holy as the abbey's acoustics confirm. This former Cistercian abbey, built in the 12C, was on the verge of falling into ruin, when a music-loving monk saved it thanks to a massive restoration project in the 1970s. The interior of the sandstone church is famous for its acoustics. It has now become an international research, training and creative centre for religious music and as a result has acquired an international reputation.
