Lac d'Oô

To reach the lake, take the D 618 (Peyresourde Pass road) out of Luchon, then turn left in Castillon on the D 76 (Oô Valley road) which runs along the vast moraine on which the villages of Cazeaux and Garin are perched. The Lac d'Oô is located in a magnificent setting, at an altitude of 1,504m, with a stream from the Lac d'Espingo forming a 275m-high waterfall. The name Oô comes from the Gascon iu or eu, meaning ''high mountain lake''. The lake feeds the Oô hydroelectric power station.
