Pech-Merle caves

Highly recommended
Situated in a secluded wooded environment, the stunning Pech-Merle caves are as rich in wall paintings as they are in natural concretions. In an enchanting setting of stalactites, fistulous concretions and calcite pearls, visitors can admire works of art created 15 000 years ago, including bisons and mammouths drawn with black lines, a bear's head engraved in the stone and silhouettes of horses. Don't miss the famous "negative hands" painted using the stencil method.
