Cloisters of Moissac abbey

Highly recommended
These remarkable late-11C cloisters stand in the shade of a huge cedar tree. Note the slender arcades and columns, alternately single and paired, in harmonious tones of marble - white, pink, green and grey. The rich decoration depicts a great variety of motifs - animal, plant, geometric - and historiated scenes taken from the Bible.
