Laperouse Museum

This museum honours Jean-François de Galaup de Lapérouse (1741-1788), who set out on a scientific expedition on the frigates La Boussole and L'Astrolabe in 1785, and disappeared in a shipwreck. Thanks to navigational instruments, maps and ship models, you can get an insight into 18C navigation and the last investigations conducted in 1999 then in 2003 off the coast of Vanikoro.
