Cathédrale N.-D.-de-la-Treille

Started in the mid-19C, the construction of Lille's neo-Gothic cathedral was only completed at the very end of the 20C, with its façade featuring a rose window designed by the artist Ladislas Kijno. The bronze portal, the last work by Georges Jeanclos (1933-1997), is at once minimalist and detailed with human figures. In the chancel, the statue of Notre Dame de la Treille stands over the altar. Installed in the crypt, there is a centre of contemporary sacred art showing 124 works from the la Gilbert Delaine collection in rotation.
