Passage Pommeraye

Recommended
A somewhat whimsical Nantes notary spent his life and his fortune completing this gallery in 1843. Fluted columns, open-worked balustrades and cherubs carrying torches make it a dreamlike, if somewhat kitsch construction that fascinated the Surrealists and was chosen by Jacques Demy in 1961 to shoot his film Lola. Pommeraye passage was restored in 2015.
