Château de Serrant
This original medieval castle belonged to the Serrant family. The Renaissance château, begun in 1546 by Charles de Brie, has decorative and architectural similarities with the main spire of the cathedral at Angers. The apartments are beautifully presented (fine furniture, tapestries and pictures), especially the Grand Salon and library, housing some 12 000 volumes. The refined taste is even evident in the kitchens.
