Musée des Docks Romains

Interesting
Remains of the commercial warehouses for dolia (large earthenware jars), dating from the 1C and 3C. Other objects (amphoras, pottery, coins) illustrate the major role played by Marseille in Mediterranean maritime trade. A model helps you imagine how the site and its surrounding area looked during the first centuries of our era. The transparent catwalks spanning the jars as well as the light and sound installations do much to modernise one of Marseille's oldest museums.
