Musée d'Histoire de Marseille

Interesting
Refurbished from top to bottom, this museum is one of Marseille's newest treasures. In a streamlined and light-filled building, the substantially augmented collections are organised into 13 sequences, presenting the history of Marseille from prehistory to the present day in a clear and informative way. Be sure to see the amazing shipwreck of a 3C Roman merchant ship, the largest vessel from the period on display in the world.
