Musée Ziem

Félix Ziem (1821-1911) was not from Martigues but he fell in love with the place and from then on tirelessly painted the Étang de Berre (Berre Lagoon) in a style that foreshadowed Impressionism. As well as seeing his works, you can gain an insight into the Provençal painters, including Guigou and Loubon and the Fauve painters (Dufy, Derain). Finally, the museum has a local archaeology and ethnology section.
