Montagne de Lure
The impressive silhouette of this long ridge dominates the surrounding landscape. It rugged, almost unpopulated uplands battered by howling winds are a botanical paradise. These broad wild expanses bewitched writer Jean Giono, who spent his summers at Contadour from 1935 to 1939. The splendid view from the Signal de Lure (1 826m) takes in 300km of landscape: Mont Viso, the Pelvoux, Vercors, Cévennes and Ventoux.
