Aubagne

Aubagne
The Essential
In this once fortified city in the Huveaune valley you can explore the remains of the old ramparts and avenues shaded by ancient plane trees. Today, the little town is almost a suburb of Marseilles and several industrial firms are established in the vast business zone. But Aubagne's main claim to fame remains its production of clay figurines, superb pieces that are turned, modelled and painted by artisans - and it is also known for being the birthplace of Marcel Pagnol.
