Maillane The Essential
In the heart of the Saint-Rémy plain, a village which owes its fame to a local celebrity, Frédéric Mistral, a reformer of the Provençal language, founder of the Félibrige literary movement and winner of the Nobel prize for literature in 1904. In the village cemetery, the tomb of the author of Calendau was inspired by the pavilion of Queen Joan of Baux-de-Provence.
