Martigues
Martigues The Essential
The Venice of Provence, in the words of Vincent Scotto. The cabaret singer did have that tendency to exaggerate, of which southerners are often accused, but it is true that water is omnipresent in Martigues, with both the Etang de Berre and the canal running through the town. And the Lure for birds with its colourful houses is fairly reminiscent of the Venetian island of Burano.
