L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue The Essential
Interesting
A short stroll is enough to understand why this little town surrounded by water is named "Isle". The Occitan word "Sorga", meanwhile, denotes an abundant spring, an apt name for this river that flows from the Fontaine de Vaucluse spring. At the weekend it becomes a mecca for bargain-hunters, when antique dealers come to sell their wares. The branches of the Sorgue, little bridges and paddle wheels... if this isn't enough poetry, visit the Maison René Char, an 18C private mansion.
