Nantua The Essential
Interesting
Despite its location at the foot of an imposing valley carpeted in fir trees, Nantua has a pleasant, open feel thanks to its large lake, which opens up the horizon and offers a range of water sports. The town is famous for its pike dumplings (quenelles de brochet) with Nantua sauce, as well as its interesting cultural heritage: the Saint-Michel abbey church, housing a splendid St Sebastian by Eugène Delacroix, and the moving Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation de l'Ain et du Haut-Jura.
