The Ain and Haut-Jura's Museum of the History of the Resistance and the Deportation

Interesting
The commemorative museum is set in Nantua's former remand centre, where Resistance fighters were interned. Skilfully presented and enhanced with audioguides, as well as voice-offs by former French Resistance fighters and an English soldier, the varied collections recreate the atmosphere of the 1940s, the Occupation, the Resistance, the organisation of the French Resistance movement and the Deportation. A montage of films and songs from the era, a collection of propaganda posters and two rooms housing temporary exhibitions round off the visit.
