Pérouges The Essential
Recommended
Located to the south of the Dombes, Pérouges is a harmonious village surrounded by ramparts. It was once a favourite with the sovereigns of Dauphiné and Savoy who fought over the town. Over time, the village was abandoned but in 1910 some local inhabitants and residents of Lyon started to restore the village to its original splendour. Its attractive little streets delight the numerous visitors who visit Pérouges nowadays.
