Tignes Dam

Interesting
The Tignes Dam, which retains the waters of the Lac du Chevril (230 million cubic metres of water) and was inaugurated in 1953, has the peculiarity of being decorated by a huge fresco. Jean-Marie Pierret's giant painting became the town's emblem, but since 1989, having been exposed to bad weather, has faded to a mere shadow of its former self. The water passes through the turbines of the power station at Les Brévières and is then channelled to Malgovert power plant.
