Bad Wimpfen The Essential
Recommended
Overlooking the River Neckar, the small fortified town of Bad Wimpfen was the imperial residence of the Hohenstaufens in the 13C and boasts a picturesque network of half-timbered houses lining its narrow winding streets. At the foot of the hill on which the town is built lie the Ludwigshalle salt works. The production of salt brought wealth to the whole of this region, especially the area around Bad Wimpfen im Tal (in the valley), which is built around an old collegiate church.
