Fürstenberg Collections

The princely collections are installed in a building on the Karlsplatz. The exhibitions on geology, paleontology, mineralogy and zoology on the ground floor are displayed in period furniture (1868). A picture gallery on the second floor has works by Swabian (duchy in southwest medieval Germany) masters of the 15C and 16C and, above all, the very fine Altarpiece of the Passion. Contemporary art is represented by works by Anselm Kiefer (1945, pupil of Beuys).
