Mannheim Castle

The construction of this Baroque palace, the largest in Germany, lasted from 1720 to 1760. It has more than 400 rooms and 2 000 windows. The paintings on the ceiling of the grand staircase and Knights' Hall are the work of Cosmas Damian Asam. In the university wing, see the Rococo library, decorated in green and rose.
