Giant Crater Museum
The Ries is a giant depression left by the impact of a meteorite which deviated from its path between Mars and Jupiter some 15 million years ago. The museum, housed in a 16C barn, uses modern educational aids to explain this extraordinary phenomenon to visitors. A piece of moon rock weighing 165g/5.8oz lent by NASA is on display.
