Charlottenburg Palace

Recommended
Schloss Charlottenburg was the favourite summer residence of Queen Sophie-Charlotte, wife of Friedrich I. In the Altes Schloss, don't miss the Porcelain Room, the chapel (1706) and the former apartments of Friedrich Wilhelm IV (note the Crown Prince's tableware). Also interesting is the Neuer Flügel (new wing) with its Golden Gallery, collection of 18C French paintings (Watteau) and Japanese bedchamber decorated in what was thought to be a Japanese style in the late 18C.
