Lorsch Abbey

Of the abbey, founded in 774, only the nave ante-chamber and Torhalle remain as witnesses to Carolingian architecture. They are included in the UNESCO Word Heritage List. On the site where the monastery once stood is a museum complex including a department on the history of the abbey, a space devoted to folklore and a tobacco museum.
