Lessing-Haus

Lessing's last residence was this mansarded pavilion just before the library on the north side of the esplanade. The great innovator of German drama lived in Wolfenbüttel for eleven years (1770-1781) working as official ducal librarian and writing, among other works, Nathan the Wise.
