Poppelsdorf Castle

This building (1715-1753), built according to the plans of the French architect Robert de Cotte is linked to the Residence by a large road bordered with chestnut trees, the Poppelsdorfer Allee. On the town side, note the façade with three pavilions reflecting the French classical influence. As for the internal courtyard, you will see that it is reminiscent of Italian style. Behind the chateau extends the university's botanical garden.
