Augustusburg Castle (in Brühl)
This Rococo castle (1725-1768) with its garden in the French manner was built by Schlaun and Cuvilliés for Archbishop and Elector of Cologne Clemens August. Inside, besides the staircase by Balthasar Neumann embellished with caryatids and telamons, of particular interest is the Large New Suite, especially the audience chamber.
