Clytemnestra's Tomb

Interesting
This communal royal tomb with a dome, known as Clytemnestra's Tomb, is more recent than the shaft graves, dating from the 14C BC. A 35m-long path leads to a door whose sculpted marble lintel is surmounted by a discharging triangle, here hollowed out, so placed to relieve the lintel of the weight of the cover. The dome of the vast funeral chamber is nearly 13m high. Note the lintel over the door, curved to follow the shape of the dome.
