Akrokórinthos

Recommended
The ruins of Acrocorinth (Corinth Acropolis) are among the most impressive anywhere, in terms of their size, the desolate grandeur of the site on which they stand, and the broad panoramic views they command. The access ramp from the parking area to the fortress has spectacular views of its three lines of defence and the three monumental gates. Don't miss the keep that looks down on the ruins of a Frankish castle, the Peirene Spring, and the Temple of Aphrodite with fine panoramic views reaching northwards beyond the Isthmus of Corinth to Parnassus, east to Attica, and south over the Peloponnese.
