Exédra of Iródou Atikoú

Interesting
This semi-circular monument was built in 160 AD by Herodes Atticus, a wealthy Athenian, to collect water from a spring. It supplied the whole sanctuary of Olympia via an aqueduct and a veritable network of pipes. Emphasising its two basins, one above the other, it had niches containing statues of the imperial family and Herodes Atticus.
