Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano

An Egyptian granite obelisk (15e s. B.C.) stands in the centre of the "St. John Lateran Square". It stood for a long time in the middle of the Great Circus. The square gives access to the baptistry of San Giovanni and to the Lateran Palace.
