Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II

Two streets head off from the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, one of which leads to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. Under its arcades are stalls of all kinds, and formica café tables clutter the area in glorious chaos. In the middle stands a large rectangle of palm trees, surrounded by the square's colourful buildings.
