St Lanfranc's church

In those days geographic mobility were not just vain words: Lanfranc was born in Pavia, and died as Archbishop of Canterbury in 1098. Although he was buried in Kent, his memory is honoured in birthplace by a cenotaph from the end of the 15C, created by Amadeo.
