Galleria Civica di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (GAM)

Interesting
Dedicated to Italian art of the 19C and 20C, this large collection of paintings and sculpture focuses primarily on the Piedmontese artistic scene, and in particular on Reggio-born painter Antonio Fontanesi (1818-1882), whose work has a luminous solemnity, density and richness of colour. The 1st floor, devoted to the 20C, covers the evolution of Italian and European art up until the Arte povera movement of the 1960s.
