Lido di Venezia

Interesting
The Lido, the Venetians' beach, remains tainted with a slightly decadent atmosphere, despite having lost some of its former flamboyance in the wake of current renovation work. Three emblematic edifices line Piazzale del Casinò: the municipal casino (1936-38), Palazzo della Mostra del Cinema, a temple to the Seventh art and beyond on the beach, reached by a canal leading to the lagoon, the Neo-Moorish Hotel Excelsior built between 1898 and 1908 by Giovanni Sardi.
