Colossus (Colosseo)

Recommended
Dating from the Roman era, this colossal statue, over 5m high, symbolises the town and is also known as the statue of Hercules. It is believed to be of the Byzantine emperor Valentinian I and, probably dates back to the 4C. It marks the passage from decadent Roman art to Early Christian art, illustrated by the intensity of the expression which attenuates the rigid morphology.
