S. Maria di Cerrate

Interesting
This enchanting Benedictine abbey, in its isolated country setting, dates back to the 12C. A portico with beautifully carved capitals flanks the left-hand side of the church, which has preserved some of the frescoes that once decorated the entire surface. Others can be seen in the conventual buildings which accommodate a FolkMuseum exhibiting equipment used to produce oil.
