Bova The Essential
Perched on a rocky spur at an altitude of 900m, Bova is the main Greek minority town in Calabria. Situated just inside the Parco Nazionale dell'Aspromonte, it boasts fine local architecture in the form of elegant mansions (18C-19C). The Aspromonte museum of palaeontology and natural sciences houses an interesting fossil collection. The ruins of a Norman castle (10C-11C) cling to the summit of the spur, with breathtaking views of the Aspromonte mountains, the Ionian Coast, Sicily and Etna.
