Musei Capitolini

Highly recommended
Based at the Palazzo dei Conservatori and Palazzo Nuovo, although part of the collection (notably items excavated in the rome region) are now on display at the Montemartini Power Station. Among the masterpieces are: the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius (late 2C), the Dying Gaul and the Capitoline Venus (in Palazzo Nuovo); the She-Wolf (6C-5C BC) and the Spinario (Palazzo dei Conservatori). The gallery includes works by Titian, Caravaggio, Rubens, Guercino and Reni.
