Trevi Fountain

Highly recommended
An international landmark since Anita Ekberg bathed in it wearing an evening dress in the Dolce Vità. Movie. The monumental Trevi Fountain is a late Baroque masterpiece, by Nicola Salvi in 1762, on Pope Clement XII's orders; its dimensions mirror those of the palace against which it is built and it rather resembles a triumphal arch. The day-long crowd will force you to be patient before you too can toss a few coins into the fountain, as it is believed that this action will ensure your return to Rome.
