Militello in Val di Catania
Militello in Val di Catania The Essential
This small town flourished thanks to Joan of Austria (1573-1630) who settled here after her marriage with Francesco Branciforte. The town was transformed into an aristocratic court, which encouraged a taste for sophisticated culture and beautiful objects. Today, several fine Baroque buildings dating from this period can still be admired in the historical centre.
