Milazzo
Milazzo The Essential
Milazzo, today essentially built along the coast, stands on a sickle-shaped promontory overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Because of its strategic position, the site has been occupied since time immemorial and has been the scene of many fierce battles, as the imposing fortress which dominates the medieval hillside town testifies. Ferries sail from Milazzo harbour to the Aeolian islands.
